OVERVIEW: SOLVING THE DRIVER & RIDER CLUB & BUSINESS OPERATOR INSURANCE CRISIS

Grassroots motorcycling, 4x4, karting, track day, and recreational motorsport clubs across Australia face an unsustainable wall: traditional commercial insurance brokers are slapping driver and rider clubs with $15,000+ upfront premiums for standalone public liability—putting event sanctioning and track days completely out of reach.

Through the Club & Operators Alliance, we have restructured driver and rider sport risk management. By leveraging group syndication under a master policy framework, we provide an underwriter-backed ecosystem that makes running track days, training clinics, drive/ride days, and recreational events affordable, compliant, and legally secure.

1. THE COA DRIVER & RIDER RISK SYNDICATE

Rather than forcing individual clubs or operators to carry a massive standalone policy, COA brings driver and rider operations together under a Master Policy Syndicate ($20M Public Liability underwritten via APRA-authorised / A+ rated global security).

STANDALONE CLUB / OPERATOR POLICY COA GROUP SYNDICATE
• Premium: $15,000+/year • Base Membership: $350/year (COA Program Membership)
• High financial burden on small orgs • Syndicate Access Fee: ~$50/year per operation
• Excessive sign-on taxes & rider levies • Zero Rider Levies: Flat-rate access
• High risk of event closure • Direct Broker Access: Master policy lines via OTTA Insurance

Syndicate Highlights:

  • Accessible Group Rates: Shared master policy structures dramatically lower the annual cost per club, fitting comfortably within a $3,000–$5,000 total annual budget.

  • No Race Licences, Rider Levies or Gate Taxes: Zero per-participant gate taxes, sign-on fees, or full or per-day licenses. Clubs pay a flat annual fee, and riders pay nothing extra.

  • Direct Master Policy Access: Issued directly through licensed broker partners (OTTA Insurance Services) with $20M Public Liability protection.

  • Turnkey Compliance: Straightforward digital onboarding, simplified WHS risk governance templates, and standard participant liability waivers.

2. JOINING A COA SPORT & RECREATION SYNDICATE

Clubs and operators retain 100% of their local identity, brand, and committee autonomy. Joining under a simple Syndicate Participation Agreement allows you to operate under the COA master policy umbrella without burdensome corporate red tape.

"Sanctuary and Mobility go hand-in-hand. Ensuring safe housing is incomplete without ensuring our community can travel, train, drive, and ride safely."

Key Benefits for Syndicate Members:

  • Flat-Fee Simplicity: Pay your annual $350 COA Program Membership and $50 Syndicate Access Fee, then cover your baseline master policy schedule premium.

  • Committee & Volunteer Shielding: Operating under an accredited risk framework protects individual committee members, presidents, track marshals, and volunteers under the master liability line.

  • Explicit Activity Alignment: Tailored coverage options covering track days, off-road 4x4 trails, rider training, drift events, karting, and recreational ride/drive days.

3. HOW TO GET STARTED

  1. Submit Event & Setup Outline: Tell us about your club or operating setup—how many track days, clinics, or recreational events you run annually and your current insurance costs.
