ADVOCATING FOR CAMPGROUND OWNERS

Advocacy is a core function of COA. Our goal is to ensure that Australians are not arbitrarily denied the right to responsibly experience and enjoy camping and associated activities on private lands. Our supporters, which include property owners, vacationing families and industry, have joined together to provide input on decisions regarding private land use designation and recreation opportunities.

No one supporter believes that a recreation enthusiast has the right to exclusive, unregulated use of private lands, but all oppose extreme regulation, which denies responsible citizens access to private lands for camping and associated recreational pursuits.

COA focuses on the entire spectrum of issues surrounding the use of private property for camping and outdoor activities. We work with Government and its agencies, local representatives and most importantly, the landowners who care about providing access to private lands for recreational pursuits.

Camping Exemption

Starting with the QLD state government, COA is lobbying the for recreation and leisure organisations that use private property as a campground to be exempt from requiring planning permission or licence on the land.
