COA SERVES AND SUPPORTS PROPERTY OWNERS THAT PERMIT CAMPING AND RELATED ACTIVITIES ON THEIR LAND

COA SERVES AND SUPPORTS PROPERTY OWNERS THAT PERMIT CAMPING AND RELATED ACTIVITIES ON THEIR LAND

COA IS THE PEAK BODY FOR PRIVATE CAMPS AND FARM STAYS IN AUSTRALIA!

The Camping and Outdoors Association (COA) has organised a $20M group insurance arrangement just for property owners that permit camping and related activities on their land.

The purpose of COA is to establish, promote and enhance the provision and development of private camps and farm stays in Australia. Associating with COA means receiving a range of appropriate membership benefits including:

  • access to the COA Group Insurance Program (GIP) for private camps and farm stays, a very affordable $20M public liability insurance arrangement specifically tailored to meet the needs of Australian property owners;
  • advocating for private camps and farm stay providers to ensure that Australians are not arbitrarily denied the right to responsibly experience and enjoy camping and related outdoor activities on private property; and
  • product and service discounts offered by our industry partners.

Mission - COA is an organisation dedicated to the promotion, growth, improvement, and development of campgrounds in Australia.

Vision - COA will be the model campground and other accommodation association by providing professionalism and diversity in our programs, education, services, advocacy and support for continued growth and collaboration within the outdoors industry.

COA is dedicated to representing the interests and needs of owners and managers that provide camping and other lodging options for outdoor enthusiasts. COA was formed with the aim:

  1. to be the peak industry body in Australia, which represents the needs and interests of owners and managers that permit people to camp, stay and participate in outdoor activities on their property;
  2. to remove liability and appropriately insure landowners with an APRA approved insurer;
  3. to provide certainty to Australian property owners that they are dealing with and can communicate with an authentic Australian service organisation;
  4. to lobby government for recreation and leisure organisations that use areas as a campground to be exempt from requiring planning permission or licence on the land; and
  5. to assist property owners that want to obtain development approval to operate as a COA Campground on a permanent basis.

We are deeply committed to providing members exclusive access to continuing education, networking, business and marketing tools, advocacy at the local, state and national levels and other advantages and benefits such as insurance cover, assistance with development applications and more. ADVOCATING FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

Advocacy is a core function of COA. Our goal is to ensure that Australians are not arbitrarily denied the right to responsibly experience and enjoy camping and related activities on private property. Our supporters, which include property owners, vacationing families and the camping and outdoor industry, have joined together to provide input on decisions regarding private land use designation and recreation opportunities.

No one supporter believes that a recreation enthusiast has the right to exclusive, unregulated use of private lands, but all oppose extreme regulation, which denies responsible citizens access to private lands for camping and associated recreational pursuits.

COA focuses on the entire spectrum of issues surrounding the use of private property for outdoor activities. We work with Government and its agencies, local representatives and most importantly, the landowners who care about providing access to private lands for camping and associated outdoor recreational activities. .
