COA Outdoors is a set of outdoor ethics created for COA Campers, promoting conservation in the outdoors. FileSuite_COAOutdoors-03

The aim of the COA Outdoors initiative is to protect and enhance recreation access and opportunities by promoting outdoor ethics to heighten COA Campers sense of good stewardship. The Vision is to balance the needs of the people who enjoy camping and associated activities with COA and the need to maintain a healthy environment in the areas where we recreate. Our niche is promoting safe and responsible camping and outdoor activities.

We offer educational messages, which are underpinned by the COA Outdoors Code to help educate COA Campers across the nation on the importance of following the principles of COA Outdoors.

The Four Principles Of COA Outdoors

Safety First .... get the right information prior to your trip, make a plan and be prepared. Only operate equipment that is safe and appropriate for the area you are traversing. Get educated and know how to operate your equipment safely and carry and be sufficient in first aid.

Recreate Responsibly ..... on land by staying on designated roads and trails. Don't go around obstacles to avoid widening the trails. Cross creeks and streams only at designated crossings. When possible, avoid wet, muddy trails. Park RVs and camp on durable surfaces only.

Enjoy Australia ..... there is nowhere else like it! We are all stewards of the Australian environment and should provide careful and responsible management of our great outdoors so that this generation and those to come, can enjoy it.

Don't Destroy It ..... by modeling appropriate behavior, leaving the area better than you found it, properly disposing of waste, minimizing the use of fire, avoiding the spread of invasive species and repairing degraded areas.

Always remember Safety First, Recreate Responsibly! Enjoy Australia, Don't Destroy it!!
